Tuesday's 10

If you all want to join in the fun, go to Roots and Rings!

1. What two cities should be moved closer together?
That's an easy peasy one! The two cities where our two families live... Pensacola, Florida and Woodruff, South Carolina. Do you know how much easier things would be if I could have moved these cities a long time ago? How much vacation time I would have saved? How less sore my booty would be from driving between the two?

2. What was the first plane ride you took?
This one's gonna be a shocker to ya'll. I was a full-fledged grown up. My first ever plane ride was to Indiana for a convention with Dan/Daddy and the boy. I was maybe 33? Up until then... never had a reason to fly. Truthfully, I hate it. I'm glad I missed out on it all those years. It is a stressful time for me and those seated around me.

3. What continent would you most like to visit?
Africa. Oops... That's gonna require a LONG flight, isn't it?

4. What’s your favorite place to window-shop?
Pottery Barn. I LOVE the store and the catalog makes me drool. The prices make me queasy. I like to try to copy their look for el-cheapo.

5. What’s the least fun you’ve ever had at a place specifically tailored for fun?
If you read my post from a few weeks ago, you would know this one. Chuck E Cheese.

6. You’re stuck on an island with plenty of food, a companion, and a relatively stress-free lifestyle. What do you say when the rescue ship comes?
"Keep on driving boys!" Or would that be floating? Sailing? There are days I wish I was stuck on an island. With no snakes.

7. Which day of the week do you look forward to most?
Friday.

8. What’s your favorite place to enjoy the great outdoors?
Near some form of water. Preferably the ocean, but a lake or a river will do. Just without snakes.

9. What’s on your “to do” list this summer?
#1 Take the boy to Disney World. I know... We are loser parents. He's just turned eleven and he's never been. Shame on us. I like to think we've been saving the money for the last 10 years.
#2 Make some family visits.
#3 Wear flip flops until the bottom of my feet turn black. Or until I fall.
#4 Get out in the sun just enough to stop frightening people and let the boy get just enough sun to make his freckles pop out.
#5 See no snakes.
#6 Wear pj's and swimsuits more than regular clothes.

10. Which natural disaster freaks you out the most?
A tornado. Sheesh. When some people find out that I want to live on the beach, they ask me if I'd worry about hurricanes. Nope, I say. That's why I love the Weather Channel. If there's a hurricane coming, you'll know about it weeks in advance. Tornadoes like to sneak up on you... sometimes in the dead of night. If a hurricane is coming, I'll pack my bags and batten down the storm shutters. If a tornado comes, I might wake up in my neighbor's tree. And with my luck, a snake wrapped around my neck.

I'm terrified of snakes. TERRIFIED! I cannot even watch cartoon snakes. This is the truth.

Yes, you have warnings with hurricanes but they are still so scary. The week after Ike when we weren't allowed back in the city was awful. Just wondering... is my house still standing? is it flooded? is it ruined? do I have a home? are my memories ruined? etc.

I hate snakes too. UGH.

Don't feel bad about Disney - The Boy will be old enough to enjoy it and REMEMBER enjoying it. Plus, he'll be old enough to ride all of the awesome rollercoasters!

I went to the thrift store and found a set of four plates from the Pottery Barn. I grabbed them up - four plates for 8 bucks.

They were based on cigars. CIGARS. Why do I need cigar plates? I don't of course, but I wanted to own something that said Pottery Barn.

I guess I can use them with my beer plates that I found a few years ago.

I don't drink beer either.

So you're a huge fan of snakes I take it? Just kidding. I hate anything that creeps, crawls, and slithers!
